You can browse irises by name, size, colour group, flowering time, style, or qualities (such as prizewinning, perfumed, reblooming irises, and historic irises). You can also buy our virgin olive oil (collection only) and view our holiday rentals. Please note that for most of our irises there are (subject to availability) significant discounts if you order 3 or 5 of the same variety in the same order.
Important notice! We supply irises as bare root rhizomes which are dug from the field to your order and therefore they can only be delivered during the lifting season, in September-October each year, and there is a cut off date for orders after which any orders will be suppled the following year. For delivery in 2026, we are accepting orders up until 18 October 2026, inclusive, for orders destined for Italy and the EU, and 20 September 2026 for orders destined for the UK. Orders placed after those dates will not be delivered until 2027.
This historic iris is a perennial favourite for good reason. I can’t do better than quote from Schreiner’s Iris Lover’s catalog for 1947: “This is one of the best deep yellows. So intensely yellow it is almost on the orange side. Rich in color, brilliant in effect. A flaring, lightly ruffled flower on tall stem withstanding weather to a very great degree. It is an iris people talk about and this is high praise indeed as we have an abundance of good yellow iris and when one stands out it must be good.” All that, and a spicy scent too.
Questo iris storico è un favorito perenne per una buona ragione. Non posso fare di meglio che citare dal catalogo di di Schreiner Iris Lover per il 1947: “Questo è uno dei migliori gialli profondi. E così intensamente giallo è quasi arancione. Riccho di colore, brillante in effetto. Un fiore leggermente arruffato su un stelo alto che resiste molto bene al tempo cattivo. Si tratta di un iris da chi si parla e questo è alto elogio, visto che abbiamo un’abbondanza di buoni iris giallo e quando uno si distingue deve essere proprio excellente”. Tutto questo, e anche un profumo speziato.
